She definitely is a proverbial phoenix rising from the ashes of a melodramatic 5 year exile in Hawaii. After 901 cases filed against her and her family she was never found guilty, she got aqcuitted and is never repentant, and is still fighting to recover what the government has seized from them including jewels and several estates. Though she would publicly say she is now poor, that would not really be what she meant. She is poor maybe, in comparison to her life as a first…

Though she would publicly say she is now poor, that would not really be what she meant. She is poor maybe, in comparison to her life as a first lady. But now that she is a congresswoman, and her son a senator and her daughter a governor, her “poorness” is just perhaps a

public act like other politicians. The Philippines may have seized a few Billion dollars of their wealth. and a few hundred million dollars of her jewels, but then there were Billions and Billions more of the Marcos wealth hidden and is speculated to be still circulating around the world after it has been invested in different large corporations. Their cronies of multi billionaire businessmen and powerful politicians who have been continuously growing with the help of the Marcos wealth are still very much at large supporting the Marcoses and their new Political Dynasty with Imnelda as the Matriarch. Imelda Marcos at her age is not slowing down, she grabs the spotlight at every private party wearing her most fabulous jewels( away from the press of course to avoid controversies), and is still busy entertaining wealthy friends in her luxurious and over the top penthouse, not to mention refurbishing her old mansions. Some of which were sequestered by the government but surprisingly back in the Marcoses’ hands again. And of course only the chosen few would be able to see her precious jewels and her new collections of shoes! It is rumored that after her 3,000 pairs of shoes have been  sequestered when they fled their Palace, she has been collecting ever since. Now her shoes could have doubled in number. In one interview she showed a long hallway lined with her new shoes in shelves, but they said there were more where that came from. Though her name was tainted with horrific stories and controversies, she is still one of the most glamorous , extravagant, and unbelieveable women of this time who have reached an iconic status and is a curiosity for many who for generations are continuously amazed by stories of historical figures like Marie Antoinette, power, fabulous wealth not to mention scandals of the rich, famous and powerful. Truly Imeldific!.
